One of the things that the older kids participate in at Frenchglen School is cooking. We cook for fundraisers, community gatherings, school events, and some other things. We usually cook individually but sometimes we work together to make a meal. We have made goods for bake sales to a meal for Read the Day Away. Whenever we cook, we have to make a grocery list. Then we use the receipts and recipe to find out how much each individual product should cost. We also include science while we cook. We studied the difference between baking soda and baking powder. We found out that it makes a HUGE difference!
